This scene takes place on Tomb Sweeping Day, also known as Qingming Festival. Tomb Sweeping Day is a traditional Chinese festival. It began in the Zhou dynasty, over 2,500 years ago. 24、On Aug. 4, there was a huge explosion(爆炸)in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon The explosion sent a mushroom cloud into the air and the effects were felt over 240 km away, the BBC reported.

The explosion did a lot of damage(损坏)to the city. Roofs fell in, buildings were damaged, windows were broken, and cars were turned over. By Aug. 12, the explosion had killed 171 people. Nearly 6,000 people were injured and around 300,000 became homeless, the New York Post reported.

Mohamed Khalifeh, a former health minister, who immediately went to the hospital to help treat the wounded. “I was staying at home when it happened. I called out to my family to be careful. The earthquake happened, and everything fell down immediately,” he cried.

Nasser Yassin, a professor at the American University in Beirut, said, “I was on the outside of Beirut at the time of the explosion, but we were shocked to find it nearby.”

Nada Hamza, a Beirut resident(居民), said, “I was driving in Lebanon and I got out of the car and ran to the entrance to one of the buildings, and then I realized that it was destroyed. Then I tried to call my parents, but I couldn’t find anyone. I couldn’t believe I was alive.”
