1、 A picture is more than a thousand words. (41)A mind map tells what you think. Different from a map that guides you home, it paints out the way your brain works. On mind maps, ideas are shown as pictures and key words reaching out from a central topic. (42)一张好的思维导图通常看上去像一只蜘蛛或一棵大树。 By setting your mind free, mind maps encourage you to think outside the box . The outside the box. The only thing might get in the way between you and your next big idea is your imagination. Here are some tools that can be useful in showing key points, and say a lot without saying too much!
A flow chart explains how things work with symbols and text. It shows you every step and decision you need to make. (43)Each step is in a different shape and connected by lines and arrows(箭头).Each arrow points to the next stage of a process. This allows anyone to see the map and follow from beginning to end as easily as reading a story book. (44)例如,你可以制作一张流程图来告诉爷爷如何使用智能手机。 A fishbone map points out the reason behind a problem. You create it in the shape of a fish. Start with the head, which is the problem in question. (45)A straight line leading to the head is the fish's backbone. Lines connecting to the backbone are the "reasons"of the problem. Each reason will then need to be explained. The closer you get to the fish head, the closer you are to a solution.

25、If English means endless new words, difficult grammar and sometimes strange pronunciation, you are wrong. Haven’t you noticed that you have become smarter since you started to learn a language?
According to a new study by a British university, learning a second language can lead to an increase in your brain power. Researchers found that learning other languages changes grey matter. This is the area of the brain which processes information. It is similar to the way that exercise builds muscles.
The study also found the effect is greater when the younger people learn a second language. A team led by Dr. Andrea Mechelli, from University College London, took a group of Britons who only spoke English. They were compared with a group of “early bilinguals” who had learnt a second language before the age of five, as well as a number of later learners.
Scans showed that grey matter density (密度) in the brain was greater in bilinguals than in people without a second language. But the longer a person waited before mastering a new language, the smaller the difference.
“Our findings suggest that the structure of the brain is changed by the experience of learning a second language,” said the scientists.
It means that the change itself increases the ability to learn.
Professor Dylan Vaughan Jones of the University of Wales, has researched the link between bilingualism and maths skills. “Having two languages gives you two windows on the world and makes the brain more flexible (灵活的),” he said. “You are actually going beyond language and have a better understanding of different ideas.”
The findings were matched in a study of native Italian speakers who had learned English as a second language between the ages of two and thirty-four. Reading, writing, and comprehension were all tested. The results showed that the younger they started to learn, the better. “Studying a language means you get an entrance to another world,” explained the scientists.

27、A local store is remodeling (改造), but not one of the changes is good for those of us who shop there. The passages (通道) have been changed with some going in one direction and others going in another. The passages have been pushed closer together, making it harder to get through them. All of the goods have been moved from their usual places as well.
It seems that all of these changes have been for the purpose of slowing the shoppers down so they will spend more time shopping and make more buys.
As I walked through the store today, no one was smiling and everyone was unhappy about it. The change that mostly let me down, however, was in the check-out passages. Only a few cashiers (收银员) were left working with most sections being changed into self-service check-outs. It saddened me to see this. I knew that people were probably going to lose their jobs because of this change.
I got in a cashier passage and patiently waited when I saw some other people trying to learn how the self-service machines worked. At that moment I decided not to use one even though I had to wait longer every time I shopped there.
When I finally arrived at the front of the passage, I saw the cashier was someone I knew.
I asked her how her family was doing. She answered me with a warm and kind smile that deeply touched me. We talked happily when she bagged up my goods. I felt a friendship and connection with her that warmed my heart.
Machines can do a lot for us, but there are many things they can’t do. They can’t smile. They can’t love. They can’t touch a heart. Only we can do that. Only we can make life worth living. So it is time for us to realize that money isn’t more important than people, and machines aren’t more important than us. It is time for us to go out and communicate with others as much as possible.
【1】How have the passages of the store been changed?
A.They have become longer.
B.They have become narrower.
C.They have been built in a modern style.
D.They have been built in the same direction.

B.It’s difficult to get through the passages.
C.The goods have been changed their places.
D.Most cashiers have been displaced by self-service machines.
【3】Which of the following is true according to the passage?
A.The writer spent most of his time shopping.
B.The writer waited for a long time to check out.
C.The cashier will not work for the store in the future.
D.Many people used the self-service machines happily.
【4】Why did the writer get in a cashier passage?
A.Because he didn’t want to use the self-service machines.
B.Because he would never shop there.
C.Because he had a lot of time.
D.Because the cashier gave him a warm and kind smile.
【5】What can we learn from the last paragraph?
