22、There is an old saying----“The only good snake is a dead snake“  I disagree .I know some people like their smooth pets, but I hate them. I shake from head to foot even whenI see them on TV

One day I stepped over one in my front yard,, and I probably set a record for the fastest runner and the loudest screamer in my town. And I almost had a heart attack when I walked through my house that night after I saw the snake. For that my husband received a serious warning about leaving his belt on the floor. So you can imagine my response when I saw the news about the lost 8-foot long cobra of a zoo in the Orlando area where I had lived a few weeks ago and it still frightened me . After days of search, they gave up. Then a few days ago, I read about its return. A young lady went out to the car in her garage. There she heard hissing coming from under the car. She immediately called the officers at Animal Control. You guessed it. An 8--foot king cobra was hanging out under the car. It was frightening.

We might not have a king cobra hanging out around us, but maybe a snake is hiding around to see how it can damage us. We need to keep our guard up. I think if the young lady had kept her garage door shut, the king cobra might not have made it to the garage.

B. Seeing her husband’s belt on the floor.

A. It was killed by the young lady.

B. It was sent back to the wild.

C. It ran away from the garage.

A. kill all snakes.

B. watch out for snakes.

C. know where snakes are.

D. always keep our doors shut

24、Many children act in TV shows. They work several hours every day,so they can't go to a regular school. How do they get an education?

In Hollywood, where many TV shows are made, about forty teachers give lessons for the children in the shows. They teach wherever their pupils are working.

The teacher's job is very important. She is responsible for making sure that the child works only the permitted hours each week. She is also responsible for making sure that the child learns the required subjects. She makes sure, too, that the child gets enough rest and play, along with his education.

Child actors are required to attend classes 20 hours each week. California law says they must be taught from September to the middle of June. If they do not get good marks in school, they are not permitted to continue working in TV shows.

TV children are usually good pupils, and most of their teachers like this special kind of work. Their classes are held in many interesting places. Sometimes the “classroom” is a Mississippi riverboat. Sometimes it is the inside of a spaceship. Often the pupils become famous stars.

四、书面表达(共1题,共 5分)

26、阅读下面的材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

“This year is going to be different,” Mark told himself every year. He always said that he would start exercising more and eating less. Every year he made the same resolution (决定), but every year he failed to keep it. However, this year Mark knew it was going to be different because he decided to make changes to his resolution. He learned that it should be more specific for his goal. Only in this way could he be more focused and know exactly where to begin.

Losing weight by taking exercise is very common. Without guidance, Mark was less likely to reach his goal. This year he decided to run at least one mile every day, which was easy for him. He also said that he tried to eat at least five fruits a week. It could be realized since Mark used to eat two fruits per week at most. As weeks went on, Mark found it easier to keep his resolution because he knew what he had to do. In the past, he would exercise once in a while and eat a diet only sometimes. He did not have a plan on what he was going to do at that time.

Now he did so well that he reached his goal. He felt great about the changes he was making; he felt happier and healthier gradually. He also thought about other things he could do to improve his health. This resolution encouraged him to sleep earlier and drink more water. In the past, he usually watched TV programs for a long time at night. He knew some TV series were boring, but he just couldn’t get up from the sofa because it felt so good. After that he played some video games before going to sleep. Sometimes he forgot about time and went to bed very late. No wonder he felt tired the next morning.

注意:续写词数应为150左右。

Mark thought a lot about his habits.
