27、What is the hottest topic at your school recently? In Taiyuan No. 55 Middle School, it’s money.
The school held an activity called “making money” last weekend. About 200 Junior 1 and Junior 2 students were divided into 30 teams. They went out to make money by selling things.
What did they choose to sell? Some sold newspapers; some chose bottled water; some sold environmentally friendly shopping bags and bamboo baskets.
Hu Qing’s team decided to sell some useful books in front of the Children Activity Center. They thought parents would like to buy the books for their children. But unfortunately, they met urban management officers (城管). The officers asked them to leave. “We played hide-and-seek (捉迷藏) with the officers for the whole morning” said Hu. “Finally we had to give up.”
Wang Bing and her team sold ice cream in a square. They didn’t meet any officers. But few people were interested in what they were selling. The team then put up a board saying “For Country Kids”. It worked. More people came to their stall (小摊). A foreigner even gave them 100 yuan. “He didn’t want any change. He said he wanted to help the children,” said Wang. “We were touched.” Later that day they gave the 100 yuan and more to the “Project Hope” office.
MengZhaoxiang and his team were luckier. They sold all their cakes in four hours, spending 39.5 yuan and getting back 80 yuan. 28、A new system, known as “gait (步态) recognition” is already being used by police on the streets of Beijing and Shanghai. The Chinese technology company Watrix developed the system.
The system works in a similar way to face recognition. Cameras capture (捕获) video of people in public places. Then, machines powered by artificial intelligence (AI) examine and study the video. Facial recognition systems identify the shapes and expressions on a person’s face to identify them. Gait recognition uses a person’s body shape and their way of walking to identify them. The system records a person’s shape and movements and then creates a model of the way they walk.
Huang Yongzhen is a former researcher who co-founded Watrix in 2016. He told the Associated Press that the system would not easily be misled by a person changing their usual way of walking or other body movements. This is because the AI system is designed to examine all movements over the entire body. “We believe you are totally unique in the way you walk.” Huang said.
According to Huang, his system can identify people from up to 50 meters away. It is designed to work even when a person’s face is covered or hidden. Successful facial recognition usually requires clear, close-up images of a person’s face. At present, the Watrix system is not able to identify people in real-time. Users have to enter video into the system, which then takes about 10 minutes to process each hour of video.
Huang says his gait recognition system is correct 94 percent of the time. This is below the success rate of many face recognition systems, which is a little discouraging. But he adds that using biometric (生物特征的) recognition to preserve social security and manage society is an unstoppable tendency. With professional development, gait recognition is meant to be a great business.
【1】How does the system of gait recognition work?
A.By identifying people’s movements in real-time.
B.By analyzing the movements of people’s legs.

D.Cautious.

29、Teens love to argue their viewpoints. 【1】. This powerful skill gives kids the opportunity to be heard and helps them think before speaking while presenting their views in a calm, reasonable manner. This skill is never used in the heat of the moment when anyone is upset. 【2】. Once that’s established, here are the steps to follow:
Look at the person. You need to be in person and face-to-face for this to work well, not texting or social media.
【3】. Make sure to speak calmly and slowly, and keep a comfortable distance between yourself and other person.
Say “I understand how you feel”. This starts the discussion off on a positive note. Be sincere in your desire to come to an agreement, and admit the other people’s right to an opinion.
Tell why your feel differently. Get your “ducks in a row”, which means getting everything properly organized and under control. 【4】. You should also use as many details as you can. In this way, the other person is more likely to accept what you say.
Listen to the other person attentively. Give the other person time to present his or her views. 【5】
Make sure to practice several times before your child actually needs to use the skill. Over time, you’ll find this skill calms things down in your house and equips your teens to navigate differences of opinion wherever they may be - and that’s a win-win for everyone!
A.Use a pleasant voice.
B.Don’t act before thinking.
C.You should always think before you speak.
D.However, listen attentively at first.
E.Don’t interrupt, look bored or argue,
