一、翻译题(共1题,共 5分)

1、   September 22 every year is World Car Free Day. Many people across the world ride bikes to have fun, exercise or as a way to get from one place to another. In fact, 65.人们200多年前就习惯在日常生活中骑单车。Although bikes have changed a lot over the years, one thing stays the same: two wheels and a lot of fun. As an invention of great importance, just like the smart phone today, it’s worth remembering how the development of the bicycle in the late 19th century changed societies.

66 .In the 1890s the bicycle was a must-have for people, so they could go anywhere they wanted. For the first time m the history, people were able to come and go as they pleased. There is no more need for expensive horses and carriages (马车). By 1898 cycling had become such a popular activity in the United States.

67. It is believed that the Englishman. John Starley, was the inventor of the modern bicycle. His uncle had developed the penny-farthing, an early type of bicycle that had a very large front wheel (轮子) and a small back wheel, in 1870s. However, many people were afraid to ride such a high wheel bicycle then. So in 1885 Starley changed the bicycle in 885 with the “Rover Safety Bicycle” the bike looked like the bikes we ride today. 68 It had two wheels of the same size and a low seat between them, which made the bike safer and easier to ride.

69. 各种各样的有创意的单车被生产 because people have new ideas and needs for bicycles every year. The design of bikes keeps changing in interesting ways. Who knows what bikes will look like in the future?

June 5 is World Environment Day. Nowadays more and more people are trying different kinds of ways to face environmental problems around the world. What are people doing to protect our home—the earth?

Most people are changing their shopping habits. On the one hand, secondhand clothes may be a smart choice. People are willing to buy the secondhand ones to wear in special situations because they only wear them once or twice. On the other hand, there are some companies for renting (租) clothes and renting clothes is cheaper than buying them. So people are able to save money and protect the environment.

Several large companies have begun developing paper bottles to take the place of glass and plastic ones because there are lots of customers worrying about the environment. They think paper bottles have many advantages. The most important is that paper bottles are easy to recycle and weigh less than glass or plastic ones as well.

A zero-waste life is that people hardly create any rubbish. A zero-waste theme store provides a number of everyday, practical and pleasant zero-waste products. The store helps people start on a one-stop, zero-waste life journey. A zero-waste life follows the 6R principle (原则)—Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle and Rot.

All in all, the earth is our home and it’s our duty to protect it.

【1】Few people around the world are trying different kinds of ways to face the environmental problems.

【2】In order to save money and protect the environment, people can not only buy second-hand clothes but also rent clothes.

【3】Lots of companies have developed paper bottles successfully and put them into use.

25、At eleven, I decided to learn to swim. There was a pool at the gym. Mother warned against it, and reminded me of the drowning in the sea. But the gym pool was safe.

I had a childhood fear of water. This started when I was three years old and father took me to the beach. The huge waves knocked me down and swept over me.

The pool was quiet. I was afraid of going in all alone, so I sat on the side of the pool to wait for others. Then came a big boy. He yelled, “Hi! Skinny! Get the hell out of here!” With that he picked me up and threw me into the deep water. I landed in a sitting position, and swallowed water. But I was not frightened-when my feet hit the bottom, I would make a big jump, come out of the surface. It seemed a long way down. I gathered all my strength when I landed and made what I thought was a great jump. Then I opened my eyes and saw nothing but water. I tried to yell but no sound came out. I went down, down endlessly.

When I came to life, I found myself lying on the bed in the hospital.

I never came back to the pool. This memory stayed with me as the years went by. It took me away the joy of boating and swimming. Finally, I decide to get a coach. Bit by bit, he built me a swimmer. Several months later, the coach was finished, but I was not. Sometimes the fear would return.

This went on until July. I swam across the Lake Skyworth. Only once did the fear return. When I was in the middle of the lake, I put my face under and saw nothing but bottomless water. I laughed and said, “Well, Mr. Fear, what do you think you can do to me?”

I had overcome my fear of water.

26、   Many people have been making fun of Paris Hilton online recently. The 36-year-old US actress and model said on social media that she “invented” the selfie (自拍) in 2006, posting a photo of her and Britney Spears as “proof”. Internet users immediately proved her wrong, posting evidence (证据)of selfies that appeared much earlier in history.

In one example, a user posted a selfie that Buzz Aldrin, the famous astronaut, took a picture of himself in space in 1966. But perhaps the funniest example was a black-and-white selfie that was taken by American photographer Robert Cornelius in 1839. It is quite possibly the first selfie ever taken in history.

Why do people love to take selfies so much? Is it because we’re naturally vain (虚荣的) and proud? Maybe it’s actually the opposite--perhaps we feel insecure (没有安全感的) or shy. So we take photos of ourselves, post them online and wait for people to give us compliments (称赞).

Taking selfies can be dangerous, though. For example, if you take one while you’re on holiday and post it online, some thieves might see it and know that you aren’t home. They then might break into your home and steal your things while you’re away.

There are even people who have died while taking selfies. According to Forbes magazine, 127 people around the world died while taking selfies from 2014 to 2016. It can be very dangerous to take selfies while standing near high places, like roofs and cliffs (悬崖). Taking selfies underwater or on train tracks is also quite dangerous. So be careful out there if you decide to take some.

1The underlined word “proof” in Paragraph 1 means ________.

A.消息 B.证据 C.例子 D.历史

2Which may be the earliest selfie, according to the story?

A.Paris Hilton and Britney Spears’ selfie. B.Buzz Aldrin’s selfie in space.

C.A color photo taken by an American scientist. D.A black-and-white photo of Robert Cornelius.

3What is the main idea of the third paragraph?

A.Paris Hilton is insecure and shy. B.Why people enjoy taking selfies.

C.Why people are naturally vain. D.Taking selfies is a good way to make friends.

4What can we learn from paragraphs 4 and 5?

A.Taking selfies can be dangerous.

B.There are no advantages to taking selfies.

C.Every year, 127 people die from taking selfies, on average.

D.Taking selfies near cliffs is more dangerous than underwater.

5If you are the writer, what will you write at the end of the passage?

A.Selfies have been around for longer than you think.

B.There is no need to take selfies near high places.

C.No selfie is worth risking your life for— no matter how good it might look.

D.People will lose their lives while taking selfies.

27、   My dear boys and girls,

Good morning. Today I’m going to talk to you, about my understanding of learning history.

Many of you may think it is a terrible thing to study history. You may often wonder why we students should study something that has nothing to do with our own lives. If you think that way, I should say you are far from the truth.

In fact, if we study history, we can learn quite a lot about personal stories and events of people just like us. The people who came before us helped build and develop the country we are living in. Their ideas often solved many of our problems and troubles. Studying the past helps us to understand what our ancestors’(祖先)lives were like. And it also helps us to see how their experiences have shaped our own life.

To be honest,        . Some of what we study in history helps us understand the mistakes of the past. And these mistakes will help people not to do the same wrong things. People often learn from the past to have a better future.

Whether we like the subject of history or not, we must understand the importance of the events and the people who came before us. Our ancestors’ decisions have influenced our own life. Similarly, the decisions of our own generation(一代人)will finally influence those who come after us. In this only way, the world is truly connected.

History is not just a study of the past. History is the study of people, places, and events that can influence the future.

Now do you still think studying history is a sad thing? Or do you have any doubt about learning history? If you have any question, just feel free to ask.

D.not everything that happened in the past is good

【3】According to Paragraph 5, the decisions of our generation will ________.

A.show what is happening to us

B.build and develop our country

C.influence the people in the future

D.help understand the people in the past

【4】The writer wrote the passage to ________.
