28、   Chicago already has bike sharing and car sharing. Could electric scooter(滑板车)sharing be the next big thing?

With electric scooter sharing already appearing in many cities and the biggest operator eyeing the Chicago market, Moreno is trying to make the rules of the road before electric scooters arrive.” It’s yet another means of transportation and we need to welcome them and make the regulations in advance if we are really serious about reducing traffic and reducing air pollution,”said Moreno.

Moreno said that in other cities, electric scooter riders have ignored helmet rules and traffic laws. They have parked illegally and ridden scooters on sidewalks. Those are the problems he’s trying to avoid. The rules would require related companies to first get an “Electric Scooter Share License”. To get the license, companies would need to provide a minimum of 100 scooters operating at a maximum(最高的)speed of 20 miles per hour.

Bird is the nation’s leading electric vehicle sharing company. It has raised $100 million and begun operations in many cities. Bird ‘s spokesman Kenneth Baer said his company welcomes the Chicago regulations, which can help to avoid the start-up problems it has met with in other cities.

“We follow the laws on the books. It happens to be that in a good number of cities the law is silent or not clear how to treat this new technology. And that causes some troubles,”said Baer. “If the rules of the road are officially made in advance then it is very clear. I think the Chicago regulations really would give the citizens a great way to get around the city.”

1What can we learn from Moreno’s words?

A.The various means of transportation in Chicago.

B.The popularity of electric scooter sharing.

C.The reasons behind making the rules in advance.

D.The future of Chicago’s traffic.

2What should the relevant(相关的) companies do to get the “Electric Scooter Share License”?

A.They should provide enough parking spaces

B.They should limit the speed of their scooters.

C.They should raise at least $ 100 million.

D.They should provide helmets for renters.

3Why has Bird run into problems in some cities?

A.The scooter-sharing laws are too strict.

B.People take no notice of traffic regulations

C.Electric scooter sharing has many disadvantages

D.These cities lack specific rules to deal with scooter sharing

4What does Baer think of Chicago regulations?

A.They are forward-thinking.

B.They will limit scooter sharing

C.They should be further discussed.

D.They should follow the example of other cities.

29、   Cancelled school, daycare and sports activities means that children are eating all of their meals and snacks at home. 1, social distancing also brings new opportunities.

Studies have found that children who regularly eat family dinners consume more fruits and vegetables, and fewer unhealthy foods than children who don’t. They’re also less likely to be overweight, and more likely to say no to smoking and drugs.

Being stuck at home also provides an opportunity for parents to teach children cooking skills that they can carry into adulthood. 2, and teaches them nutrition and food safety. And, research suggest, doing so may help children overcome picky eating by becoming more accepting of new foods. Besides, cooking and baking can be fun ways spend time while bonding with family.

3, however, healthy eating guidelines are the same for children and adults. Meals should be planned around healthy protein foods, vegetables and fruits, whole grains and healthy fats. It can be challenging, though, to feed children three well-balanced, nutritious meals day after day during the corona-virus crisis.

When you’re too stressed or too tired to cook, it’s easy to sometimes fall back on children-friendly meals, such as frozen pizza, pasta and cheese, or chicken fingers. That’s perfectly okay; these aren’t normal times.

4. For example, offer sliced fruit or raw vegetables with the meal or heat up frozen peas to serve with chicken fingers.

As much as possible, keep a routine(常规)around your children’s meal and snack times, which helps to discourage snacking throughout the day.5

C.Kitchen activities may require children’s patience as they learn

D.Children at different ages need different amounts of specific nutrients

In Times of Crists, We Need Classical Music

It’s still lying in front of me on my desk. The booklet, entitled Time for Outrange(愤怒) , was written by the 93-year-old French diplomat(外交官) Stephane Hessel. “The power of money,” Hessel says, filled with anger, “has never been as great and selfish and 1 as it is now.”

But what does the outrage of this Frenchman have to do with classical music and , ultimately, with me, music director of the Orchestre Symphenique de Montreal(蒙特利尔交响乐团) ?

A lot, I, too, am outraged by the direction of industrial society, with materialism and consumerism leading the way. I want to show that, because of its powerful impact, classical music can play a(n) 2 role right now.

We all sense that our society is experiencing an almost revolutionary 3. Life is getting faster, competition is fiercer and social cohesion(凝聚力) is reducing. Like most people, I have no idea how liberty and civil rights would develop in the era of globalization and ever-evolving technological advancement.

But I see this as an opportunity for a(n) 4 to classical music. The great symphonies of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven are not museum pieces we should listen to only if we want to 5 ourselves with some music history. Now are they a decoration or a relaxation exercise for the quickened pace of life.

They are more than what a radio station for classical music once promised - “your oasis(绿洲) of well-being.” They are timeless compositions that 6 all the uncertainties and insecurities of this new period. They can support us in our search for meaning. Beethoven, for example, was convinced that man had the capacity to change for the better and to go throughout life. This is why there is so much hope in his music. His symphonies was mean to 7 people forward.

Classic music 8 our senses and emotions in such a way that we were thrown back onto ourselves. It 9 to listeners to make use of their own reason and reflect on their actions. Music’s sole purpose is to be experienced. That experience, in turn, is why music can change our perceptions(认知) of ourselves and thereby our interactions with others.

10 to explain this powerful impact of music will always remain unsatisfying, but this much is certain: aesthetic(审美的) experiences can transform people.
