21、How often do you hear people saying that the relationship between their parents and them is not as good as it used to be? Now let’s see what you can do to get along well with your parents.
As a teenager, you should respect your parents and what they did for you. If your parents don’t allow you to do something, do not go out of the way to do it. There must be a good reason why they feel you should not do that thing. Do not be angry about it or fight with them. Talk to them and explain to them your opinion. As you enter your mid-teens, you will realize you want to be independent. This change is going to bring conflicts (矛盾) between you and your parents. You will feel your parents control you too much. To avoid further conflict, talk to them, and follow them.
When you grow older and become an adult, you will be independent. That can put a distance (距离) between you and your parents. In this situation, listening to each other and understanding each other are necessary to build a healthy relationship between you and your parents. The visitor was disappointed. He then said sorry for taking up Rossetti's time, but asked if he would just look at a few more drawings - these were drawn by a young art student. Rossetti looked over the second batch (一批) of sketches and immediately became interested in them. "These," he said, "Oh, these are good. This young student has great talent. He should be given praise and encouraged to continue in his career as an artist. He will have a great future if he works hard and keeps on trying."
Rossetti could see that the old fellow was deeply moved. "Who is this fine young artist?" Rossetti asked. "Your son?" "No," said the old man sadly. "It was me-40 years ago.
"Once upon a time, I was a boy who was so interested in drawing. I spent my free time going to the nature and drawing beautiful butterflies, mountains and forests and whatever I like. I got a feeling of satisfaction when sitting quietly near the river, watching and drawing. But people around me told me never to waste my time on drawing. They laughed at me for dreaming of being an artist as a son of a farmer. They kept advise me to work hard on the farm instead of day-dreaming and running away to avoid farming work."

24、 A new rubbish sorting system (垃圾分类系统) has been put into use in Fangchengyuan Community in Beijing. Local people not only sort their rubbish, but also put QR codes (二维码) on it.
“When the rubbish is collected and the codes are seen, I will get reward points to exchange for small gifts and even some money,” one of the local people told reporters. “It’s really creative and encouraging.”
China produces quite a lot of rubbish every year. Much of the rubbish is buried (填埋) in soil or burned without being sorted. Landfills (填埋场) take up a lot of land and have a risk of polluting the soil and water nearby. And burning rubbish can produce harmful gases. Through rubbish sorting, we can reduce the use of landfills and air pollution.
What’s more, rubbish sorting saves resources, which could bring economic benefits (经济利益). For example, a ton of waste paper can be reused to make about 850 kg of paper, saving 17 trees and 50 percent of water. Because of their benefits, some countries have developed successfully sorting systems.
Japan has a strict and detailed system. when people throw away a water bottle, the cap, the wrapper (包装纸) and the bottle itself have to go into three different bins.
In Australia, every family is provided with three rubbish bins—the red lid (盖子) bin for “general waste” like food and plastic bags, the yellow lid bin for “recycling” like steel and glass, and the green lid bin for “green waste” such as grass and leaves.
