21、I come from the Philippines and I do volunteer work in my city, Manila. Over 100 million children in the world live on streets because they don’t have homes. There is an organization (组织) helping street children to get off streets and to live a normal life, and I am one of the volunteers.
There is a big difference between street children and street working children. Street working children make money by selling things, such as candies and newspapers. After they finish their work, they go home. However, street children have no homes. They live and work on streets. Sometimes they sleep at train stations or in parks. They make a living by asking other people for money or stealing (偷) things.
Here in Manila, our organization found a place and there were lots of street children. We talked to sixty of them and gave them food and other help. Day by day, they began to trust us and we provided places for them to eat and sleep. Most of the kids didn’t want to tell us much information. But when they decided to talk to us about their families and where they came from, we listened carefully.
We also have an education program. If the street children learn skills (技能), it will be easy for them to find jobs. We want them to do something for their lives.

22、 Hobbies are very important to a person. Without having any hobby, life won't be as colorful as it should be.
I have a number of hobbies, such as collecting stamps, playing musical instruments (乐器), reading, and doing sport activities. When I am free, I will spend time on my hobbies. When I am in a blue mood (情绪低落), I will also do my hobbies to cheer myself up.
Hobbies can help us improve our moods. Many hobbies require you to put your heart in them. For example, when you play a musical instrument, you have to practice over and over in order to perform good music. After a period if you still enjoy it, gradually it will become a hobby of yours. But remember, a hobby is like gold under the ground; no hobby will come to you unless you dig it out yourself. If you can treat study as one of your hobbies, learning will be more enjoyable. I hope all of you can find your own hobbies and also have fun from them.

23、 My name is Paul. Last summer, I worked as a volunteer(志愿者) in a hospital. I was asked to help the patients(病人) who were going to leave hospital. My job was to help them leave hospital in a shorter time. One day, someone called me to a ward(病房). When I came into the ward, I saw an old woman. She told me she wasn't ready to leave. She wanted to go to the gift shop. I got a wheelchair(轮椅) and took her to the gift shop.
We got to the gift shop at 8:00 am. It was not open yet. After a 30-minute wait, we went into the shop. The old woman was happy to be out of her ward. At first, she chose some books, and then she saw chocolates. She asked me to help her look through all the chocolates. Finally, she decided to buy three different boxes.
As she was paying for everything, she asked the cashier(收银员) for a pen, and then turned to me. She told me to write some words on the boxes. She said that the nurses were taking good care of her, so she wanted to buy some chocolates for them. Later, I took her back to the hospital. 24、“Please don’t go to Wuhan if it’s not really necessary.” Zhong Nanshan, a famous expert, said when the COVID-19 (新型冠状病毒肺炎) hit Wuhan. At the same time, Zhong, 84, went on a trip to Wuhan to fight the disease.
Chinese people shared his pictures and words online, saying “they believe every word Zhong says”. He gave Chinese people confidence and hope in winning this fight.
As a doctor, Zhong said his goal was always to save as many lives as possible. In 2003, when SARS hit China, he asked other doctors to send their most serious patients to him. After months of hard work, he saved thousands of lives.
