22、Almost 80 percent of primary and secondary school students had the opportunity to get more nightly sleep this semester, after education authorities took measures to reduce their academic workload, the Ministry of Education said on Wednesday.

Lyu Yugang, director of the ministry’s department of basic education, said 77.14 million parents were surveyed to make sure whether their children were getting enough sleep.

Schools and parents have also paid more attention to students’ sleep time, with 98.7 percent of schools asking parents to monitor their children’s sleep and study time.

In April, the ministry advised that primary school students should go to bed before 9:20 pm, middle school students before 10 pm and high school students before 11 pm. Students should go to bed at the recommended times, even if they have not finished their homework. Schools should control the amount of homework assigned to students to make sure primary school students can finish all their written homework at school and secondary school students can finish most of their homework on campus. Students in primary and secondary are prevented from bringing smartphones to class, the ministry said. Almost all schools no longer assign homework via smartphones and students do not need to finish their homework digitally, he added.

“Homework, after-school tutoring courses and online games should all take second place to ensure students can get enough sleep. And in fact, from our survey, many parents hold a positive attitude towards these.” Lyu said.

Zhang Xiu, mother of a primary school student in Beijing, said “Thanks to this, my daughter can sleep more than nine hours a night, as the school has reduced the amount of her homework. I believe a healthy body is more important than academic achievement.”

While tough measures have been taken to limit the amount of time young students can spend playing online games to three hours a week, the students might waste time on short video platforms and parents need to act to stop this, Lyu added.

【1】Which of the measures can help young students get enough nightly sleep?

A.Force young students to go to bed before 9:20 pm.

B.Control the amount of homework assigned to students.

C.Prevent students from bringing smartphones to class.

【3】In the fifth paragraph, “take second place” can be replaced by “________”.

A.be totally banned

B.be less important

C.happen for the second time

D.be far superior

【4】What can be inferred from the last paragraph?

A.The present measures against online games are not tough enough.

B.Young students can only spend three hours a week on online games.

C.Students themselves cannot control their time spent on short videos.

D.Short video apps are definitely more attractive than online games.

23、   Many primary school students in Jiangsu Province suffered from such symptoms as nosebleeds, dizziness and rashes after attending schools that recently installed plastic running tracks on their playgrounds. Parents of primary school students in several cities reported similar symptoms in their children after school began in September, 2015.

The provincial educational department said on Wednesday that schools with these plastic tracks must have professionals carry out tests. It sent a team of experts to look into the whole work of the building of the tracks. Any illegal behavior will be punished without mercy.

Chen Yun, a teacher in Wuxi, said no organization could provide the school with an official test report for its track. “The local disease control center said they can examine and analyze the air in an enclosed space, such as classrooms and washrooms. But they cannot test in open spaces,” Chen said. Local environmental protection centers have also refused to test the air around the plastic running tracks.

According to the Jiangsu Environmental Protection Bureau, China has no standards for the running track industry, which will make the air measurements useless as there are no data in determining whether the air is polluted. Besides, materials used to build the tracks are not tested when they are produced at factories because of, also, NO industry standards! So what we have to do now is, of course, that these measures should be made in no time.

Ye Ping, director of Taizhou Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute, said harmful things in plastic running tracks may lead to diseases. “The plastic tracks in China are mainly made up of polyurethane, a kind of nontoxic material,” said Ye. “However, suppliers may add toxic adhesives. They give a bad smell and may cause dizziness and rashes. Some suppliers may also add a kind of material that helps the plastic to solidify, but the lead contained in it will raise lead levels above normal in children’s blood after longtime exposure.”

Ye added that the country has not put forward rules about the examination of volatile organic compounds given off by tracks.

The Jiangsu educational department has suggested that middle schools in Nanjing grow natural grass on their playgrounds.

1According to Chen Yun, ______.

A.parents of primary school students firstly reported problems about their children.

B.no official reports about the tracks could be got at the moment.

C.local environmental protection centers worked hard to find out the causes.

D.there are no standards for the running track industry at present.

2Who believes it is the harmful things in the tracks that may cause the problems?

A.Ye Ping B.experts C.Chen Yun D.parents

3Which of the following statements can be called a Fact instead of an Opinion?

A.Without standards for the running track industry, the air measurements might be useless.

B.The schools with these plastic tracks must have professionals carry out tests.

C.Many primary school students suffered from nosebleeds after attending schools.

D.Middle schools in Nanjing should grow natural grass on their playgrounds.

4Based on the analysis, who deserves to be punished for the sick students?

A.The primary schools B.Some suppliers

C.The educational department D.The disease control center

5What work does the writer think should be done at once according to the passage?

A.Experts should be sent to test the materials of the tracks.

B.Students should be examined to find the reasons for their illnesses.

C.The plastic running tracks should be removed to grow natural grass instead.

D.The measures for the running track industry should be worked out.

24、   The way people greet each other can be very important. And proper greetings change depending on where you are and whom you are greeting. Should you use a hug, a kiss or just a friendly handshake? 1, one can sometimes get confused about how best to say “hello” or “goodbye”.

As a general rule, the closer you are to a person, the more intimate(亲密的)your greeting can be. However, even this is not always a rule that can be relied upon. There are different greetings between men and between women. Take a look at these different greetings.

Man to man

2. When you meet, a firm handshake is the best strategy. Look at your new friend in the eye and smile, but do not hold on for too long. Between close friends, a handshake is often seen as too formal, so friends may use any number of hand-slap(拍手)or fist-bumps(顶拳)to greet each other.

3

Female friends tend to be more physical in their greetings. Close friends will often hug and kiss, especially if they have not seen each other for a long time. 4 . A handshake is always safe.

Man to woman

Attempting to kiss a woman you have just met can appear forceful. Instead, offer a warm smile and a handshake. In a more formal setting(场合), it can be proper to give a woman one or two kisses on the cheek. 5, you may begin to hug or kiss.

A. Man to child

B. Woman to woman

C. As you become closer friends

D. Men can be careful with any attempt at physical contact

E. With so many different social settings and relationships

F. Therefore, two women are always kissing each other whenever they meet

注意:

1. 续写词数应为150左右;

2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

I was backpacking in Panama over Christmas in 2018, and planned to climb Volcán Barú. It is one of the only places on earth from where you can see the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans at the same time.

I set off before sunrise. It was a bit cold, so I had pulled on leggings under my trousers. I’ve always felt safe travelling as a solo (单独) woman. I love the freedom. When I got to the base at 7 am, the ranger (护林员) was unwilling to let me go alone, but relented (缓和) because an American couple were behind me.

The first part of the climb was beautiful. I walked for an hour and had reached a fair height. The views were impressive, so I stopped to take a photograph. Suddenly I heard violent barking behind me.

I turned and saw two dogs running aggressively towards me. I could see their teeth looked sharp, and they looked angry. There was nowhere for me to run. I tried to keep calm, but my heart was racing. They stopped a dozen feet from where I stood and kept barking. I knew they could move fast, so I didn’t want to try to outrun them.

I kept walking, saying, “Good dog, calm down,” as evenly as possible. But I was terrified. Then one dashed up and sunk his teeth into my leg below the knee. I was shocked. He held on for a few seconds. The pain took my breath away as I felt his fangs (犬牙) in my flesh. I considered bending down to get a rock to fight him off, but was nervous in case he went for my neck or the other one launched at me.

I tried to keep walking, and he finally let go. Then he was behind me, growling (嗥叫). I kept going, my body shaking, until after about 15 minutes I was out of their sight.

When I thought it was safe, I stopped.
